There are more than 80 types of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia and restless legs syndrome. We understand that these conditions can significantly affect healthy sleep–and this, in turn, impacts your overall health, safety and quality of life.
The Sleep Center at South Texas Regional Medical Center performs sleep studies on children, starting at age 12, through adults. Sleep Studies at the Sleep Center take place in comfortable, home-like rooms.
There are more than 80 types of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia and restless legs syndrome. These conditions can significantly affect healthy sleep which can negatively impact your overall health and quality of life.
South Texas Regional Medical Center works closely with South Texas Sleep Diagnostics and Atascosa Pulmonary and Sleep Associates to evaluate your symptoms and find ways to help you get a better, safer night's rest.
Patients can be referred to our sleep disorder center by their primary care physician. Once they've arrived, they are examined to determine whether a sleep disorder is in fact the problem. If so, an overnight sleep test is performed by a team of trained professionals who evaluate sleeping patterns using computerized monitoring. A physician will then evaluate the information and will meet with the patient to determine a course of treatment.
