You don’t plan to visit the emergency department. It just happens - usually when you least expect it. At South Texas Regional Medical Center, we practice a philosophy of emergency care called ER+, which helps further our goal that you receive quality medical care as quickly and professionally as possible. ER+ represents our commitment to not only provide quality service by meeting patients’ and families’ needs with courtesy and respect but to exceed the expectations of the community as well. Your experience at ER+ should be one of care and concern to your emotional and physical needs.

Always ready, our ED is staffed by a physician and nurses, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients are triaged by a registered nurse according to the illness’s severity and then cared for in our 11 bed unit. STRMC’s experienced surgical and nursing team provides quick responses to any situation. They’ll listen to you, examine you carefully and prescribe a treatment plan that you’ll understand and believe in. In an area where heart attacks, snake bites and auto injuries are prevalent, the ED staff is prepared to respond immediately.
