STRMC Welcomes Nurse Practitioner

(JANUARY 3, 2008) JOURDANTON, TX — South Texas Regional Medical Center (STRMC) is pleased to announce the addition of local Nurse Practitioner (NP), Julie Cobb to the Three Rivers Family Health Center (TRFHC).

No stranger to service in the community of Live Oaks, Cobb proudly comes to TRFHC after serving as the local Nurse Practitioner at George West for the past year and a half. Her background affords her both the unique understanding of this area's patient care needs and the essential know-how required to build and sustain a proactive multi-service clinic of the level.

With local patient relationships already solidified in this area, Cobb is not only an ideal fit for the TRFHC, but also a tremendously powerful resource to compliment the current healthcare administered by Julie Tesch, the tenured Nurse Practitioner at the Center.

Together, this team of Nurse Practitioners will help further augment and enhance the availability of quality medical services provided at TRFHC under the continued direction of Medical Director, Dr. Alan Crowther.

Cobb's Credentials
Cobb garnered a Master of Science in Nursing, and a certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas Women's University in Denton and is a member the Texas Nurse Practitioner's Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

As a resident of Live Oaks County, Cobb is eager to continue to service her fellow neighbors. Cobb says, "This is a phenomenal opportunity to continue to provide compassionate and respected healthcare for the many patients with whom I have developed relationships with over the past few years. My professional goal is to promote healthcare throughout the lifespan of each of patients, whether they are a newborn or 90 years of age."

The Three Rivers Family Health Center will continue to provide a wide spectrum of services to the Live Oaks area, which will include: school and commercial physical examinations; laboratory and radiology services; EKG testing; and minor emergency services for in-house procedures and traumas.

Walk-ins are welcome at the Three Rivers Family Health Center, 105 E. Thorton Street, or call 361-786-2626 to schedule an appointment.
