JOURDANTON, TX — South Texas Regional Medical Center conducted their annual skills training on July 21st and 23rd. Over 300 employees participated in training activities that pertained to their job duties such as body mechanics, transfer techniques, specimen collection, blood administration, process of transporting blood, glucose monitoring, surgery time out, central line catheterization care, spinal immobilization and education on fire safety, MRI safety, bloodborne pathogens and tuberculosis. State health regulations and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) require that employee competencies are completed annually.
