(March 24, 2008) Jourdanton, Texas —Did you know that more than 60 million Americans combined, experience either chronic or occasional sleep problems? Now imagine if even half of those 60 million Americans share their bed with spouse. That would mean at least 90 million Americans either directly or indirectly have their sleep regularly interrupted due to undiagnosed and untreated sleep conditions. Those are alarmingly high numbers that equate to many restless nights, fatigued days, and even excess weight gain.
Thankfully, there are newly developed technologies which allow professionals to safely, quickly, and accurately diagnose and better treat patients suffering with these chronic or occasional sleep problems.
On Thursday, March 27th, South Texas Regional Medical Center's Healthy Woman Program will host a free health seminar for its members. This event can empower and better educate the local women of our community about Sleep Disorders and local treatment options available right here in Atascosa County.
Women age 21 or older are also encouraged to register to become a member of Healthy Woman and attend tomorrow's event. Non-members may register upon arrival at the seminar, and there is no fee for membership. Once a registered member, one will receive a private monthly invitation to every Healthy Woman event, along with updates and invitations for health screening opportunities at no cost to the member.
The free Healthy Woman Seminar for March will feature a presentation by South Texas Sleep Diagnostic Center and offer free sleep evaluations before the presentation. The event will be held at the Healthy Woman Center, located at 1320 W. Oaklawn (Oaklawn Terrace Shopping Center) in Pleasanton, Texas. Please call 830-769-5353 to reserve your seat for tomorrow's event, today!
