Jourdanton, TX (JUNE 12, 2009)— A wonderful feature regarding joining the close-knit community of is that almost immediately, relationships are forged amongst both the new and veteran residents of this area. The phrase “it’s a small world” rings true many an occasion in Atascosa as new or visiting acquaintances come to realization that they themselves have connections to the community. Such is the case with Atascosa Surgical Associates (ASA) newest surgeon, James P. Dorman, M.D., FACS.
“IT’S A SMALL WOLD AFTER ALL”
Dr. Maria A. Palafox is Atascosa Surgical Associates tenured physician who became an active member of the South Texas Regional Medical Center Medical Staff in 2005.
Dr. Palafox’s professional relationship with Dr. Dorman extends back her surgical residency at the , where Dr. Dorman was an Assistant Professor and Chief of General Surgery.
Fast-forward to the present day
Dr. Dorman and Dr. Palafox reconnected to formalize a new relationship for surgical patient care in . Dr. Dorman commenced his work with ASA in May and has already performed surgeries at STRMC. Together the team of physicians will provide consultation for general and surgical conditions. Included in the scope of care are pre and post-operative follow-up/education/and at-home-care instructions for patients with traumatic injuries, wound management and suture removal. Minor surgical procedures are also performed in the clinic.
Extending the connection
On June 25, 2009, members of the ’s will have the exclusive opportunity to meet Dr. Dorman, at their monthly Lunch-n-Learn event. Dr. Dorman’s extensive medical and military career including exotic travels and locations where he performed medical services, make him an enthralling guest for the event.
