New! Inpatient Dialysis Services Offered at STRMC
Big City Medical Advances, Delivered With Small Town Approach to Care
JOURDANTON, TX. (August 5, 2009)— Major advances are on the home front at local hospital, South Texas Regional Medical Center (STRMC). As of Monday, August 3, 2009, STRMC has begun to offer Inpatient Dialysis Services.
This expansion of service elevates the level of care available to local patients who regularly undergo dialysis treatments from nearby centers. The critical nature of these patients’ requires them to receive continuous treatments to further prolong and improve their quality of life while awaiting organ transplants.
When a dialysis patient becomes hospitalized, they must be admitted or transferred to a hospital that is capable of providing dialysis treatments throughout the duration of their stay. Local patients can now remain at STRMC without the inconvenience of being transferred, thanks to addition of the new Inpatient Dialysis Services.
Hospital spokesperson, Danielle M. Flores, Director of Marketing says, “The commencement of much needed inpatient dialysis services at STRMC is milestone for the medical community as a whole. It is very gratifying to be able to better serve our patients and neighbors here at home, where they need us most.”
South Texas Regional Medical Center is a full-service facility operating 67 licensed beds in the Atascosa County. For more information about South Texas Regional Medical Center’s service lines, physicians or specialties, please visit www.strmc.com.
