(Jourdanton, TX)— Our growing community is rooted in values based on caring for one another for to betterment of the whole. South Texas Regional Medical Center’s values mirror that of the community in which we serve. It is our privilege and honor to help provide our area’s organizations with volunteer resources and assistance with fundraising whenever possible.

Congratulations to all employees at South Texas Regional Medical Center for helping the facility provide excellent service to our community. This commitment is reflected this month as the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce announced STRMC as the Business of the Month for April 2009.

Thank you to everyone who also contributed to STR's Jean Day fundraisers and/or collected donations on their own for the hospital's Relay for Life Team. STRMC received honors and recognitions including:  Top Medical Team, Top 5 Overall Fundraising Team and as a Platinum Sponsor for this year's event.

Lastly, a special thank you and message of appreciation for those who volunteered to during the month of April to support our community through their attendance at the Relay for Life Event, Lab Week Education at the Jourdanton Elementary School, Kidsfest for the STR First-Aid Center, Kidsfest for the Injury Prevention Program's Car Seat Checks, Taste of Atascosa County and participation in the 1st Annual PCC Golf Scholarship Tournament.
