Each of our outpatient clinics has a multi-disciplinary team providing:

Physical Therapy, which focuses on mobility, strength, movement, and pain issues.  Our therapists will develop an individualized patient program to improve endurance, agility, strength, balance and coordination.  .

Occupational Therapy, which focuses on improving Activities of Daily Living, or ADLs. The areas that the therapist may assist patients with include bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene and eating skills. Each patient is assessed individually and goals are established for discharge.

Speech Therapy emphasizes tasks that improve communication skills, cognitive thinking abilities and swallowing dysfunctions.  Speech Therapists assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent disorders related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency. 

 Services can be coordinated through any outpatient clinic, and/or in the patient's home through our Home Health Agency. Clinic services include (but are not limited) to:

• Therapy for back/neck, shoulder, hand, hip, knee, foot, and sports injuries
• Training for prosthetics and orthotics
• Women's and Pediatric health issues
• Programs for chronic pain, stroke, neurological disorders, and balance problems
• Speech dysfunction and swallowing disorders
• Work’s Compensation injuries, Work Conditioning, and Functional Capacity Evaluations
  *Speech Therapy is available at our Pleasanton clinic and/or STRMC

The STRMC Therapy Gym

STRMC offers a therapy gym in the hospital to provide convenient inpatient rehabilitation services. STRMC Rehabilitation Department helps patients return to their highest possible level of function after suffering a disability or injury. This program is led by the patient’s physician.

 Independent member STR’s medical staff, Erick M. Santos, MD, Ph.D., orthopedic surgeon, frequently works with the rehab team to build a plan of action for patients after a total joint replacement, sports injury, or other orthopedic surgery.
