(March 28, 2008) Jourdanton, Texas— South Texas Regional Medical Center (STRMC) celebrated Doctor's Day with a hospital-wide reception on Friday, March 28, 2008. The reception served as a platform to announce STRMC's 2007 Physician Awards.

This year's most celebrated doctor was Donald Krampetz, D.O., recipient of the Physician of the Year honor. In addition, Physician Choice Awards were bestowed upon: Abimbola Banjo, M.D., Best Attitude Award; Chun Wang Tan, M.D., Best Teacher Award; Armando Villarreal, M.D., Best Attention to Detail; Ric Montemayor, M.D., Best Patient Advocate Award; Michael McFarland, Best Sense of Humor and Most Likely to Attend Committee Meetings Award.

All votes for awards came directly from STRMC staff members, who wish to congratulate and thank all physicians for the meaningful work that they perform for our community each day.
