STRMC’s Maternal & Newborn Center reports highest number of births for the month of August
(September 1, 2008) JOURDANTON, TX — South Texas Regional Medical Center (STRMC) proudly announces a record breaking month for the hospital’s Maternal and Newborn Center. This past August marked the highest record number of deliveries in any single month—37—for the unit since its opening back in September 7th, 2000.
This accomplishment is phenomenal considering that 7 months ago, January’s all time record for the medical center was 30 deliveries. August volumes now reflect a 23% increase in growth for the STRMC’s Maternal Newborn center.

Tiny Toes Maternity Club
The Tiny Toes Maternity Club at STRMC has also reported an increasing number of participants. Through membership in this club, expectant mothers will receive a complimentary baby tote bag, a copy of the best selling book What to Expect When You Are Expecting, a discount card for purchases and services by local vendors and access to the free 365 Nursery (an online nursery that uploads your child’s first photograph, compliments of the hospital). Parents are also offered the opportunity to participate in free childbirth education classes taught by Registered Nurses. Expectant mother s can register for the club at no cost.
