South Texas Heart Clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for scheduled appointments.
New patients are welcome and most insurance is accepted.
Meet our Staff
Chun Wang Tan, M.D.
Dr. Tan is board certified in both cardiology medicine and internal medicine. He serves as the Medical Director for the Heart and Lung Center and the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at South Texas Regional Medical Center. He brings experience, board certification and a high level of personal care to every patient.
Carolyn Dowd, P.A.-C
Carolyn Dowd is a 23 year veteran, certified physician assistant (P.A.-C). Dowd worked for over a decade in New York assisting in cardiac surgery and joined the South Texas Heart Clinic in February of 2007.
Chad Christopherson, M.D.
Dr. Christopherson, Interventional Cardiologist is a graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Christopherson completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Rush Medical College and obtained his Texas license in 2007. He is board certified in Internal Medicine with a secondary specialization in cardiovascular diseases and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Christopherson's private practice is Rivercity Cardiovascular, based out of San Antonio. He holds clinic for local consults every Wednesday for interested patients at our South Texas Heart Clinic.
