Qualifications & Experience
Dr. Ferreira received his Doctorate of Medicine from Escuela Colombiana de Medicina in Bogota, Colombia. After his graduation, he moved to the United States to fulfill a medical residency in the areas of Internal Medicine at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York. Following his residency, Dr. Ferreira completed his fellowship in Pulmonary Disease at Bronx Lebanon’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Over the past 25 years, Dr. Ferreira has garnered medical experience throughout the United States and abroad. He relocates to Atascosa County with his wife and two children from Miramar Pembroke Pines, Florida.
While in Florida, Dr. Ferreira’s scope of practice included outpatient, inpatient, intensive care and sleep disorder treatment. This is the first opportunity for Dr. Ferreira to reside in Atascosa County; however, he is no stranger to South Texas. During the years of 2002-2005, he worked in the cities of Brownsville and Alice specializing in pulmonary care.
Dr. Ferreira looks forward to the opportunity to provide reliable and experienced pulmonary care to the citizens of Atascosa County on a permanent, fulltime basis. Dr. Ferreira’s addition to the medical community will ensure that more residents “breathe easy” as allergy season approaches. Additionally, South Texas Regional Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit will benefit from 24 hour coverage and expanded services for their patients in need of critical pulmonary care.
